Two thirds of Dubai motorists neglect tyre safety

Almost 65% of Dubai motorists are negligent about tyre safety, say a study conducted by Bridgestone MEA.  The drivers who did not check their tyres on a regular basis; 66% did not know how to and what to do and 17% could not remember to.

Tyre blowouts are considered a major cause of traffic accidents in the UAE, the key reason behind Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Councils (QCC) new inspection campaign in Abu Dhabi.

RTA to start booking appointments of vehicle testing from August 23rd 2015

The Licensing Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) will set in motion a system for booking appointments for technical testing of vehicles starting from August 23, 2015 in cooperation with service providers undertaking these tests in Dubai. More than 13,000 drivers jumped red lights in Dubai in the first half of 2015, nearly 33% of total traffic violations recorded in the emirate of Dubai during that period.
