    QCC cautions Tyre buyers

    Abu Dhabi's Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) conducted a vehicle tyre inspection drive in conjunction with the GCC Traffic Week 2016. 

     

    The campaign is aimed at ensuriung compliance of tyres with the specifications and safety requirements issued by QCC to prevent accidents and fatalities due to substandard tyres.

      

    The inspectors checked more than 300 tyres from 39 different brands at 19 retailers across Abu Dhabi.  All tyres displayed with retailer must have ESMA approved RFID stickers, and that their date of manufacture should not exceed 24 months for passenger vehicles.

     

     Mohammed Balooshi, Director of Marketing & Communications at QCC, said: "The tyre inspection drive articulates our commitment to ensuring the safety of drivers and all road users. We urge drivers to thoroughly check the quality and product details of tyres before purchasing them from retailers. We believe that by preventing the sale of sub-standard and non-compliant tyres in the market, QCC’s efforts can contribute to reducing the alarming rate of road accidents in the UAE.”
