
The right tyre size – what to look for and where to look!

Use this simple guide to look for information on the sidewall of your vehicles existing tyres. Manufacturers have multiple variants for the same model of car, so tyre sizes can vary. You need to look for numbers and letters in a format like 195/55R16 95V, 225/50R17, 265/60R18 etc
1 - Width
It’s the width of the tyre in millimeters look for a number like 175, 195, 215, 235, 265 etc

2 - Height
It’s the height of the sidewall of the tyre, specified as % of its width Look for a number like 50, 60, 65 etc

3 - Rim Size
It’s the diameter of the inner rim of the tyre in inches Look for number like preceded mostly by the letter R 13, 15, 17, 20 etc

4 - Speed
It’s the maximum speed the tyre can handle at full load Look for letter. (e.g V translates to max speed of 240Kph J,K, P, T , Y, V, Z etc)
