Omoda and Jaecoo are recently launched as independent brands at Auto Shanghai 2023. Before it was called the Cherry Omoda, later then the parent company decided to introduce it as a separate brand as they are seen to be more luxurious. The cars that are unveiled at the event were the brand’s first electric vehicle which is Omoda 5 e-QUA, and the Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 9.

The main focus of Omoda and Jaeco is on establishing electric cars. For now, both brands will enter the Saudi Arabian market with a petrol version. Later on, EV models will also be introduced globally and in the UAE and KSA automotive markets.

Omoda had already manufactured its vehicles i.e. Omoda 5. Not only this, but the Omoda team has also developed the Eco-system called O-universe for their customers, where they don’t have to rely on different gadgets. Instead, their electronic devices and car will be well integrated with OMODA Eco-System and can be easily controlled from one platform for ease of use.

However, on the other hand, Jaecoo focused totally on designing “urban off-road” SUVs. According to what we've seen, the Jaecoo will likely offer all-wheel-drive models with some off-roading capability.

On April 20, Omoda and Jaecoo both hosted a Brand Day at their corporate headquarters in Wuhu, Anhui Province. At this event, they have shown some new clean energy technologies and future development strategies. This event was attended by more than 400 dealers and media people from around the world.

Omoda and Jaecoo held their first global media test drive in Wuhu, China on April 22. The event showcased the two brands' first product, Jaecoo 7, and allowed over 100 media outlets from 30+ countries to experience it firsthand through more than 10 extreme simulation programs across three zones.

The test-driving areas at Omoda and Jaecoo's event showcased more than 10 projects, offering visitors the chance to test-drive the two brands' major models with varying styles. Moreover, Omoda's first-ever pure electric product made an appearance in the form of a static display.
